A young friend of our son wanted to enter this realm of listening to analog sources, sweeping the Decca brush over the record a few turns
before lowering the stylus onto the surface and all the other woodoo stuff we deploy.
His budget was pretty tight so i started a search for something good second hand, as usual I looked for TD150, AR XA/XB etc and then found an ad for a Project RPM at a very good price so I bought it, no previous experience of this model, actually the brand either.
Unpacked and assembled, also mounting a better cartridge, AKG P8ES, instead of the well used Ortofon OM 10 that was there.
This actually is a very good TT to my ears, buying it for the equivalent of 2950 ZAR including the large dust cover made a very happy newcommer bringing it home and then out on a record hunt.
