Channel level on AVR after adding a power amplifier.

After adding a power amplifier to the pre outs of the AVR. The power amp gains are set to half. What should the channel level be on the AVR be? The channel level goes from - 12 to +12. Default is 0.

Rotel. Each channel has a knob to increase or decrease the output

My phone screen is broken and it makes so many typos. I have the same Rotel which I use for my Atmos speakers. I put the dials halfway and let the processor do the level matching.

It all depends on your speakers and your room acoustics. I have set mine on around plus 5 for my fronts using the power amp but I expect that leaving them on zero would also work depending on the levels of your other speakers. Calibrating with Audyssey will also give you a good idea where these should be set.

Ok. Recalibrated. did a couple manual adjustments as well. Here is where its at on the receiver :

Fronts (Power amp) = -4
Centre = +6
Rear = -2
Sub = +5

Sounds good to me.

PS. Just a side note on the the power amp. When I bought it. It was sold to me as "straight". If I knew it was "Gay" then no ways i would have bought it. If it has intentions of coming out the closet then thats bad news. I wont tolerate it .............

Some sellers don’t always make a full disclosure about the status of what they are selling. No need to worry though because gay ones tend to have more character 🤣🤣🤣

Nothing wrong with a gay amp especially if it is loud and proud.
