Just as an aside, I've been trawling Gomboom and OLX - it's amazing how delusional people are! For example, one guy selling Beovox 2400s (which I picked up last year for R1k) for R7900....

Lots of people on there taking chances with the hope of catching some sucker who doesn't know better. The funniest are people trying to flog their Mandela R5 coins for ludicrous amounts of money, I've even seen people asking R200k for them!  :giggle:

Unfortunately for every con artist there is a taker somewhere out there...that's why the disease propagates. It's a fact that most sellers overvalue their goods, for various reasons unrelated to greed funnily enough. But every so often there is a glaring example of just plain pig-headed stubbornness borne of no urgency to sell, and complete ignorance of the market in which they are trading.

My favourite example:

https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-speakers/robertson/sennheiser-hd600-headphones/1001996239090910011909409

 :nutter:

Still fixated on selling pre-owned for more than brand new, after 4 months of fielding offers and being told that he's deluded.
Simply incredible...

I was looking at a 58" Hisense UHD Tv that sells for R9990 brand new.  Guy won't budge from his asking price of R9750.  Good luck on ever getting that price

Probably.  His is brand new, sealed.  But I'd rather pay the R9990 and get it from Game or Makro

Is this a worthwhile purchase, or is this just an end of line product and takealot is first to the discounted old stock offer?
