Hi guys,

just ordered this online and the price including shipping was 19GBP. Counting Crows "August and Everything After" on vinyl - only seen it available from guys in SA for around R400 - this works out much cheaper and i have bought from these guys (Universal uvinyl.co.uk) before.

Here's the link to the LP: http://store.universal-music.co.uk/restofworld/invt/0600753366493?__utma=73722070.1188081727.1362993877.1362993877.1362993877.1&__utmb=73722070.1.10.1362993877&__utmc=73722070&__utmx=-&__utmz=73722070.1362993877.1.1.utmcsr=(direct)|utmccn=(direct)|utmcmd=(none)&__utmv=-&__utmk=165592185

The other is on the Pearl Jam website. They are having a sale at the moment and you can get the latest Pearl Jam LP "Backspacer" on vinyl for $10. It's $15 with the shipping. Have also bought vinyl from here before. Arrives in 2 weeks after shipping notification, so far have not paid any duties either. Link to LP: http://pearljam.com/goods/product_info.php?cPath=11_21&products_id=456

Enjoy!

Dude is down a bit... R1550.00

http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-audio-music-equipment-in-langebaan-and-saldanha/nad-c320-amplifier-463173964

Dude is also somewhat indecisive - wanted to buy a sub from me last year, then changed his mind about three times and never even pitched to look at it. My colleague was interested in this amp, now he's no longer sure he wants to sell it. Sounds nice, but a tad crazy, methinks.

Hehe, welcome to selling (and buying) chit in Cape Town  :nutter:

You have a few options here:

  • Hope someone in JHB buys and then be willing to ship... Easy-peasy transaction. Those JHB dudes don't bugger around.
  • Get a CT dude that PM's you twenty times with one liners but won't pick-up the damn phone  :walled:
  • Get the CT dude that does not pitch (or let you know that he wont pitch)  :walled:
  • Take the ridiculous low-ball offer (hehe, that's me. I am that guilty buyer  :EGrin: )
  • Find the 'lonely seller' that just wants to chat on the phone  :faint:
Changes his mind about selling but keeps you busy for 10 minutes making small talk about chit  :fuse:

Having bought and sold quite a bit of stuff in the last few months, I have had mostly very good experiences - apart from the obvious scammers, but they go away very quickly when they realise it's not going to work.

I can back ALTY up , had a CT forum member offer me a bit of gear more than 10 days ago , lives near me  , promised to bring it over , after 4-5 cancellations later for all sorts of reasons ,  I have given up and told him not to bother..not sure why one would *offer* an item and then string the buyer along..but whatever..that's CT for you

The difference between dealing with a Vaalie and a Capetonian is so vast it's like the one is a date with Louise Carver munching down on some chicken wings like long lost lovers,so easily it flows..... and the other is like trying to convince Oprah to eat salad.

Thanks for clearing that up, Kent. I'm now really confused. I have only been in Cape Town for a year, what am I? Am I Louise, or Oprah?
