It's ok but if you do indeed need a new cartridge then that probably adds another R300 at least.

I have something similar if you're looking.

Thanks

Been looking for a "starter" turntable to see if I can get into it or not... BUT, my grandfather just passed this afternoon - so my extra cash just went to an air-ticket :( So on hold again.  :OMG:

This looks interesting; particularly the turntable: http://capetown-westerncape.gumtree.co.za/c-ViewAdLargeImage?AdId=405276676

Sorry about your grandfather, xrapidx.

Not a bad buy for R500

Wonder if the Goodmans amp and tuner are valve units?

Sorry about your grandfather, xrapidx.

Thanks - it was time, he was in his 90's... spoke to him two weeks ago and he said he was only holding out for our wedding (which is in September) - I don't think he would have made the journey down anyways.

Ja-ja I hear you but adding R200 to a R1000 item is harsh and you still run the risk of something breaking along the way.

Life is much easier with simple face to face transactions
