That's a shame, I found a bit of info on the company but nothing on this particular amp.

Apparently they were bought by Alpine Electronics in the 80's, went downhill. Since 2005 they've been making decent things again but finding any info is not easy.

Worth spending a couple of hundred on to see?

Luxman (vintage) has some of my favourite aesthetic designs. Love them. I once found a Luxman preamp on Gumtree. When I turned up for the sale the seller declared he had changed his mind. He could not let it go.

Some nice links:

As I have ADD today (I did an online test), here's potentially something very nice.

Pretoria: Dynaco amp;and big speakers(physical size-90-90cm)as well as turntable & reel-reel recorder.30 YRS old.-working condition.

I only ask that you tell me what the bits are and sell me the turntable or amp if they turn out to be amazing :D

Hi guys
I saw this vintage amp on sale for R299 at the Festival Mall Cash Converters in Kempton Park. It looked in good nick, not sure if it's of value to anyone...

All Fisher turntables are rebadged Sanyos, and not the good Sanyos of their Plus series. Fisher never made anything 'professional' nor genuinely for studios*. Maybe R350.

* But don't overlook their valve stuff, nor their very rare top-end loudspeakers.

If it's REALLY only 30 years old, that makes it 1981 - it's going to be a transistor amp, not one of the much-loved valve Dynacos.

Phoned and Sms-ed (I always wonder about these big old speakers - what driver lurks in there..)

No response.

Mordaunt-Short Mezzo 6 demo units for R 9,120

http://capetown-westerncape.gumtree.co.za/c-Stuff-for-Sale-tv-audio-music-Speaker-Mordaunt-Short-Mezzo-6-W0QQAdIdZ318111102

These are probably the exact same speakers I auditioned a few months back. They sound very rich and clear.  Except for sibilant-sounding s's, which may have had something to do with the acoustics of the tiny room in which I listened to them, these speakers are something special.

There's a Fender Mex Strat (double humbuckers) with fender hard case and a distortion pedal. Plastic still on the pickguard.
