Hi guys
I've spotted a Kenwood KA 1500 at the CC on Beyers Naude for 899 or 999, I just can't remember for sure! Condition looked good from what I saw. I didn't listen to it though... Is this something sought after?
Cheers

An interesting set...

If you like the old-school Japanese sound of the 80's, those CS 629's are just the ticket you. Great sounding speakers, with deep, solid bass, a nice smooth mid-range, and clear tops. Not the best tweeters in the world, so they're not the last word in clarity or imaging, but it's a very nice set to listen to. Very inoffensive, soothing sound quality to them.

I had a set many many moons ago, that currently still belongs to my boet. Sadly, one of the original mids went, and parts are unobtanium, so they had to be replaced by what he could find at the time. They're still good, but that typical 80's Pioneer character has changed.

Luxman Receiver on BidorBuy

http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/46770993/LUXMAN_LR_2000_Audio_Video_Control_receiver.html

Looks interesting, next to nothing on the Net about it. I may bid if it stays cheap.

Luxman has a great heritage, but I believe this one is not from its heyday. So, caution: don't be misled by the name.

That's a shame, I found a bit of info on the company but nothing on this particular amp.

Apparently they were bought by Alpine Electronics in the 80's, went downhill. Since 2005 they've been making decent things again but finding any info is not easy.

Worth spending a couple of hundred on to see?
