Hi guys,

I recently bought a sorry looking AU-101 in a sad state, but for a reasonable price.
I love the look of these, and (at the moment) I love the sound too!

What I have done:

- cleaned it
- resprayed to top cover
- made new solid-wood side cheeks
- recapped the main amp board
- recapped the pre-amp / phono stage board
- no resistors or transistors have been replaced (yet)

It plays, and sounds very good. However, every now and then (about once every 5-10 minutes of play) there is a loud "crackle/pop" sound.
It seems to be on the R channel only.
It seems to be more present at higher volumes, and less so at very low volumes.
Even when I put the Balance all the way to the left channel, the "pop" appears every now and then on the "silent" R channel.

What could this be?
Do I need to replace some transistors?
Or check/do something else?

This is a lovely little amp, and even at only 15W it sounds - in my near-field system - just right.

I am looking forward to any advice, and will do what it takes to take this to 100% working order.

Thanks,
Johan
