I have two Eazylift Roller Type Garage Door motors.  They use a 24v backup battery each that costs around R500 per battery.  I have a spare 1000VA  Mecer UPS that I can use to power both motors to use it occasionally during a power failure.  I tested the powerdraw with my Watt Meter  and both motors together use about 9W in standby mode and 75W  to lower / 100W to lift a door.  There is no noticeable spike when the motor starts to roll.  I have only one question - Is this a good or bad idea?
