Ox heart
« on: August 30, 2020, 05:13:21 PM »
Just ate my first bit of ox heart. Cut up into small strips and fried with a bit of salt. Boomplaats organic grass fed beef. Nyom nyom. Texture is a bit like a cross between kidney and steak.

Mmm. I think I'll stick with steak for now.

I think I've tried Karoo oysters before, but I was pretty hammered so can't be sure. It was at one of those places that serve all kinds of meat.

Well eyeballs are not as tasty as what was described on the same menu as ‘testicles in brown’.  But both were better than ‘Small gut in special sauce’ and ‘best Egyptian brian’ at the 5 Bells in Zamalek back in the day.  Even they sounded better than the seafood pizza at Lzro across the road which featured ‘prawn, muscle, crap and chef special sauce’
