Hi,

I'd be nterested in opinions:  A Denon S950H (2019 model) or pay R3k more for an ex-demo X4400H (2018, maybe 2017?).

Its a great price compared to the new price, but it is an older (discontinued) receiver.

X4400H has 9 amps not 7.  Has 11.2 pre-outs (S950H has no pre-outs).

It has "Audyssey MultEQ XT32/LFC" which I understand is fancier room compensation.

Its only HDCP 2.2 though I don't know if that matters.

I see both have some limitations as to how signals propagate from the HDMI into the analog side ("The analog audio signal and the 2-channel PCM signal input from HDMI connector or digital connectors (OPTICAL/COAXIAL) can be played back in ZONE2.", and other complicated limitations documented in the manual)

Both are probably overkill for me but I do want phono in, 2 or more HDMI outs, and would like to drive a second room.  I am currently 5.0 in the main room but eyeing out a subwoofer and other improvements.

Thanks,
Elbow

This is prompted by my 2307 with broken digital inputs.
