With all the talk of Crossovers etc. I thought I would take the plunge and open up my speakers to see if there is anything anyone would recommend doing to the crossovers. Currently they work very well. I am pleased with the sound.

Chatting with Mr. JimGore he recommended that I should redo the crossovers due to age. As these speakers are nearing 30 years old I guess this is a fair call.

Pulling out the drivers, one by one, was good fun. The small one with a dome is a Seas. The rest I think are all Phillips. http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=485

The crossover looks fairly simple when compared to some that I've seen on the forum, but I can't even make sense of what I have.

I need someone with a little bit more knowhow to decipher what I see you the components.

2X ADE(That is a W.German make)  50 MFD 35 V Caps. (That seems easy enough)
2X ADE 5/100V (That is all that is printed on it)
1X 204-9 10%
25293 4R7 Resistor. (That is just how it appears on the resistor. No colour bands just solid red)
1X 204-9 10%
25293 10R Resistor.
1X 204-9 10%
25293 2R2 Resistor.

What leaves me foxed is the ohm value of the three resistors although I would say by the same size/shape they are identical and the captaincy value of the 5/100V caps.

Lastly I am happy with what I am hearing. I always have this feeling that it is unwise to fix what is not broken. Should I just press on the components as it stands or is it time for change? What makes would be recommended especially as I need such small quantities I might as well go exotic/best sound.

PS. As I am in there I might as well just change the speaker cable from the old ripcord. I?ve got some monster cable lying around. Forgive me, but does monster cut the mustard?
