So I moved the kit from one stand to another and the Garrard seems to have developed a static like pop once in a while on playback. It only comes from one channel and switching the cables over moves it to the other channel so it seems to be a cable issue? Any advice on getting rid of the once in a while pop - it sounds as though charge is somehow building up in the cable then pop discharges. Maybe a problem with that? It is an SME cable which is fairly old. Could it be the plug connection? I saw something about SME plugs having a capacitor in the red channel (the one that is doing this) for Shure carts or some such. Any advice would be useful.
I should add that it is very occasional after a few tracks and is generally every minute or two at first so whilst not a major issue, it?s still a tad annoying
