Well the first try to post this turned out all wrong  :RTFM:

Somewhat on a memory lane trip again. This sit down and shaddup period we are going through right now keeps us from being productive. So I thought posting a couple of photos might keep me busy and some peeps who might not know a lot about VA might be a little less sceptical about local product.

The Genesis Mono Amplifiers: 55Kg each and measuring 1000 Watt per mono. 2.5KVA power transformer. Gentle Giants they are, heavy lifters with the grace of a ballerina.

This pair went to Mumbai plus matching Genesis Preamp

Some build photos / photos of pre build in another day or so

Love the colour Schalk. As for the rest it's a pure work of art - visibly, sonically and tactilely. Would have loved to come for a listen before they go up for adoption.
Stay strong and be blessed
Pierre

These are stunning.
These are the ones to aspire to, currently running a Predator, a friend is employing 3 x 800W BW monos on his front stage.
Some day, a pair of monos will find their way to Paarl

I love the faceplate colour and the level of attention and detail is very much appreciated. Down the ferrite beads on the output transistor resistor's 1 leg.

Do you place coupling caps in one direction also?

Hi All,

Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate your input. Yes, it certainly is a labor of love for me, 26 years and counting. Hopefully I can take it to 40 years before settling down with The Plank when I hit 84  :2thumbs:

At this point I am only going to respond to the one post with a question, Gavin. Yes, the ferrite beads are there for a purpose. They just clean up the last bit of "haze" that sometimes can cause a bit of trouble at the Mosfet gates. I always scope out the coupling caps for outer foil facing back to the preceding driver stage anode. And no, I never trust the manufacturer marking for outer foil. All too often have I found the inner foil layer marked as outer, and not on cheap caps either, but very expensive ones.

Pierre, these have gone out to Mumbai a few years back already.

A wonderful day for passing my way.
Knock on my door and even the score
With your eyes.

Lovely to see you again, my friend.
Walk along with me to the next bend.

Dark cloud of fear is blowing away.
Now that you're here, you're going to stay
'Cause it's...

Lovely to see you again, my friend.
Walk along with me to the next bend.

Tell us what you've seen in faraway forgotten lands
Where empires have turned back to sand.

Wonderful day for passing my way.
Knock on my door and even the score
With your eyes.

Lovely to see you again, my friend.
Walk along with me to the next bend.

And here I thought it was for us to see a proud father reveal his latest progeny, instead it was an exercise in nostalgia. Both stir the emotions and beautiful non the less Schalk.   :dop:

If electronics can be art, this is it!

The fact that the Genesis has been around for a while now does not diminish this astonishing achievement, we are all proud of you Schalk!
