Will be all cities, soon....a few weeks.

First you need an ICU bed, most probably.  No chance of that either.

>  And we are far from reaching the peak..

Yes exactly - very far!  "Ready" my arse.   And the peak we hear of so much, well, that's all it is; the hundreds of new cases and deaths each day continues after the peak, the peak is when they start getting a decrease over a few weeks, and continuing.  It doesn't have to drop down suddenly after the peak.  Especially not when there is not so much social distancing going on...and all the other disadvantages in SA, when the taxis are busy with people going to work.  ...I can't see that Level 3 could be sustained in the cities.

Long ago, from the start, govt. spoke about...arrangements /whatever with private hospitals, iow with Life and Netcare, so I thought that suggests that my Discovery insurance and thousands of Rands each month might not guarantee me a hospital bed, an ICU bed.

I already thought about how to get oxygen...my mom's friend had some for years, said she had emphysema.  I suppose get a doctor's prescription and then there are suppliers.

Stay safe - well, for me that basically comes down to minimising trips to Checkers. ...And the bank.  Only twice since lockdown started.  ...............I wonder how long this will go on, the rigmarole of sanitising/disinfecting, the shoes, clothes, then hours with all the groceries.  ...I think it was at least an hour or so last time.   :-\

So there you have it.... NDZ is making sure that tobacco and alcohol sales will stay banned until level 1 lock down.... so until 2021, maybe!

i'm about to check how long Mozambique visa, can it be extended after 30 days whatever.
Very angry.
For one thing, then the retail liquor industry is a write-off.

PS: Ok, no visa 90 days.  So I just need to figure out how to pay for it all.

:BWAHAHAH: The circus just keeps rolling on. Now it has been stated that smokers will be forced to produce proof of purchase, if caught smoking! Is there no end to these clowns in power!

In which case I will understand better why some people think shooting cops is a good idea.

But how can there be proof of purchase........oh, ok, is that why you say circus/clowns.
See so much talk about the informal sector, the smuggling, and you might've heard talk about...becoming harder to get...so you can see that govt./iow Bheki Cele is telling them the police will get it stopped.

Yesterday my daughter told me about an article that she read on the Citizen's website, saying that drivers caught smoking could be issued a fine, should they not be able to produce the proof of purchase for the cigs prior to lockdown. Quote below

Quote
At a press briefing on Friday, after Minister of Police Bheki Cele announced that anyone found smoking in public would need to produce a receipt to prove when and where their cigarettes were purchased, the DA said it was “laughable” and called for a retraction.

“It is not illegal to smoke cigarettes in your house. The only problem is when you fail to show us when and where you got the cigarettes. Buying cigarettes and the sale is illegal. Until those regulations are removed it will remain an offence to do such,” said Cele.

FN rediculous if you ask me. Who the flip would have kept a slip showing the purchase of 10 gross of sigs prior to lockdown. THis whole thign is a lot of  :cr@p: man

I found the views of the author of the attached document very disturbing. See that against the background of Ramaposa's silence whil Zuma et al. were looting the States coffers. Could that have been a plan to cripple our economy to the state where socialism will be welcomed? Just thinking, for in China the economy was first brought to a fall and then the Socialists stepped and "saved the country". The econonomy was slowly nursed back to health to the point where it was the fastest growing economy on earth. If China's economy showed a 6% - 7% negative growth for the year due to the covid-19 pandemic, what are SA's chances to equal or better that? No chance at all, I expect.

Thys posted that one already.  ...irc, there are some flaws in it, like with all conspiracy theories.  Better than most, not full fledged, but the motive/etc. is not quite there.

Of course economic growth /GDP like that is impossilble - it is impossible for any other country.  If that could be achieved by socialism /lol/ then all would do it.  SA was not going to have growth of >1% anyway.  SA can recover, gradually...as per most predictions, 2-3 years...the main thing is the problem that was there already - mass unemployment, or underemployment - mass numbers of casual labour /day labour, same problem as India [and some other countries,] although 100x more there.
To say much more about such theories, means getting into serious level economics+politics.

What we are actually dealing with here, probably, is that the tendency of some people / some humans to authoritarianism/controlling gets more opportunity in such situations, they take advantage.

Exactly, just another old time ANC criminal, that now has the power to make you, a law abiding citizen, that is smoking outside or in your car also a criminal! If you get caught and pay an admission of guilt fine you get a criminal record!

A very familiar situation for many of us.  ...Dagga.  And this is the cabinet minister who most outspokenly rejected the Constitutional Court ruling. ...Similar/related people /"lobby groups" are supporting them in this too.

...If you get caught and pay an admission of guilt fine you get a criminal record!
A friend of mine has a friend who is an attorney in Pretoria and the latter said that there are no fines set out by law for all these transgressions under the new law as is the case for traffic transgressions, for instance, so if you are fined do not pay but wait to be brought before the court, if that ever happens, and a lawyer would be able to get you acquitted on that grounds (no fines defined by law). If you elect to pay a fine (admission of guilt) you will get a criminal record and that's a fact. Tim du Plessis mentioned it on Kyknet Verslag during the week.

The motive is "radical economic reform" as promised since the beginning of Cyril's reign. What easier way to get rid of "white economic monopoly" (yes, I do not recall Cyril having used this term, granted, but that is neither here nor there). As described in the Daily Friend article, what is drastically different from capitalism as we know it other than socialism? With such a government our constitution will have no relevance anymore. Property can be nationalised as it cannot be done now and land expropriation without compensation would no longer be a problem. Motivation? I think there is plenty of that. What would make this possible? China is in dire need of room for its teaming millions and would gladly "help" SA.

Consider for a moment what would be the scenario if the Chinese get fed up with a diet of rice? They would start demanding meat. That would need grain to feed the cattle, sheep and so on. Their own aquifer is close to running dry so they will eventually not be able to cultivate enough grain meat production will need...

Need I go on?

Well on my walk this morning the only person I saw smoking was a copper who gave a packet of smokes to a person he was talking to (Marlboro so either illegal or he bought a shed load before lockdown).  Did see a security guy selling loose at a shopping centre too and they are still available everywhere if you have the money.  Will they get arrested? No, same way as I watched people wandering around daily under level 5.  Never saw a copper or army except when they jumped the queue with no masks on in groups that were not social distancing to buy hot food at Spar (think that’s at least two fines a piece)
When the sun is dying, we'll cross the causeway of no memory.....
