I needs some advice.
My friend has moved in with me for the duration of the lockdown,
and brought her DSTV decoder with so that she can watch Masterchef Australia :nfi:
I have a dish on the roof, from many, many years ago, and thought it would still work.
However, when we plugged in the co-ax from the dish, the decoder said "no signal... weather... check connection"
or something like that.
No matter what we try, there is no signal - so I am assuming my dish / cable from the dish is fubar.
However, the decoder also has a little USB dongle for connecting to the wireless internet, and we thought
that would at least allow us (her) to watch some Showmax and DSTV-Now stuff.
We have tried everything, but the decoder, after switch off and then switch on, cable connected or not, just gets stuck on "set up decoder", select decoder (1/2/3) and then says "can't set up, because there is no signal".
Is there no way we can get it to work without a signal from the dish, but connected to the internet via the wireless dongle?
21 days is a long time, and she is going to get VERY grumpy w/o Masterchef...
