So i am making another guitar amp, this time for my nephew, from an old Hammerstein radiogram. I am reusing as much of the old circuit and components as possible.
He wants a tremolo in it. I have a circuit from the Fender Vibro-Champ (below) which uses a 12AX7/ECC83. The only ECC83 on the Hammerstein is to be used in the preamp stage, but there is an ECC85 double triode from the FM module. Is there any reason it couldn't be used in the tremolo circuit, subject to tweaking component values? AFAIK ECC85s can be used in AF applications, I would guess prone to RF noise which can be managed.
