Marantz 8B Stereo Tube Amplifier

The history of Marantz is well documented. Marantz started off with tube equipment such as the model 2A and others in the fifties and in the beginning of the sixties the 8/8B, 9 and 7.

This was the Golden Age of Stereo.

In the sixties Marantz produced its first solid state equipment.

The Model 8/8B was the only stereo tube amplifier Marantz ever produced.

It is highly collectable and a rather scarce tube amplifier.

I was very fortunate to obtain an early model 8B stereo tube amplifier. It is in a near original condition. The coupling capacitors and reservoir capacitors were previously replaced.
The power requirement is 117VAC (50-60cyl).
Output is 35 Watts per channel.
It may be also configured for triode operation.
Other damping factors may be installed.
Separate tertiary output windings of the transformer supply negative feedback to pre-driver.
Refer to link below for more detailed information.

It sounds very good.
It seems that it the original models were never available in Europe.
There was a limited edition of these three amplifiers in 1996.
