Oh come on, it's not Watergate it's a cheap Chinese DAC. Move on.

Good advice... ;D

Didn't read all the posts, however I use an LJM CM6631A USB to SPDIF interface and it works great!
Relatively cheap, around R400 - R500, although will need to have it shipped but will fit into your budget easily.
Amps: Building 2x Geco Audio Vanguard amps
DSP: MiniDSP NanoAVR HDA & UMIK
Speakers:Some Paradigm floorstanders & Speakerplan's X15
Sub: None currently

Sure, but I would rather let bullies use a buggy Tapetalk.  ;)

All I can say is .....

Pack dog mentality  :ROFLMAO: Very Saffa and USA thing.

Any individual member who fails to obey the rules will be dealt with in a swift and appropriate manner. Those who refuse to follow pack laws are sometimes driven out in order to maintain stability. Our dogs operate under the same hierarchy. They are born with an instinctive sense of pack mentality.  :point:

As the gentlemen from Pink Floyd would say......Thank God I'm not another brick in the wall  ;)

Fun and games aside I do have a serious question. Since USB to SPDI/F all remains in the digital domain won't most DACs be overkill? Aren't there any cheaper devices taht would have filled the bill or alternatively wouldn't even a less expensive external sound card have worked?
