Ok, so my recent aquisition of an Otari MX5050 BII machine plus a Revox B77 MkII machine has netted some interesting evenings..

The Otari was tested audio wise yesterday for the first time since purchase 2 weeks back, sound absolutely wonderful, but one hour in and the capstan motor went dead..

A slight tap on its side and she was up to speed again, Facebook feedback at 4am  :eek:revealed that there is a hidden speed switch inside the unit which goes bad resulting in said issue, a good cleaning and she is back up to par, for now..

The Revox B77 was purchased with the knowledge of a broken right channel Record switch, its the righthand most toggle switch on the control panel, clearly missing on my unit..
