Another Sealed 15" Targa Street DVC Subwoofer DIY Project

(1/5) > >>

Gman:
Pics coming soon... I have built up a sealed Targa Street 15" DVC Subwoofer for my Home Theatre.

Specs:

Sealed Enclosure
16mm MDF (Supawood)
Approx 100L net internal volume
Double Front Baffle (2 x 16mm)
Wood Glue and Screws for assembly
Painted Satin Black
2 x 4 ohm configuration running off an Onkyo 5 channel Receiver. Approximately 150W x 2 at 4 ohms.

Orcish75:
Nice!

Looking forward to the pics.

Is your Onkyo able to drive them hard enough? Before I got my car amp for my subs, I was running them off an old Pioneer 150W stereo amp and it would kick into protection mode at moderately high levels. I couldn't drive them to thunderous levels and have the couch shaking.

Baine Bloodhoof:
So many of these builds, its like a competition of some sorts.

There is one build thread here, also Targa Viper 15" [iirc], where the pro audio amp - Behringer iNuke, I think, or Europower or something, was clipping. ...

PS:  I'm pretty sure it's this one:  https://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,34119.0.html
I started going through it to find the part/s about the amp but then I saw it's 34 pages. :-s  ...I dunno if the search...

PPS:  Seems to have been  Hybrid B1200.  ...I still don't know why.
