Windows 10 1903
« on: August 11, 2019, 09:41:01 AM »
Both my PC's are now ready for the 1903 update.
Any idea what the size of this update it ? Around 4-5 GB I suspect.
Has anyone updated and had any issues vs. 1803 ?

On of my PC's went on the fritz when I did the 1803 upgrade in that the monitor goes blank (black screen with cursor) at random and I'm hoping that this 1903 will rectify that - or maybe it'll make it worse.

Thanks all

I upgraded both my office & home PC to 1903 a few weeks ago, no issues. Ditto two Dell Laptops, one accepted the upgrade, the other had an issue and reverted to the older version of W10. In all cases the previous version was 1809 if I recall correctly, in any event none was 1803.

The 64-bit download fits on a 8gb stick and is 4.59GB in size.

I have upgraded around 25 PC and laptops over the past 3 months without issue.

I upgraded and had issues with remote desktop. Apparently a known bug if you search it.  I was forced to roll back to 1803. Apparently Microsoft will fix it in a future release.

If remote desktop is a thing you need for multiple stored connections a very good option is RDCMan

If you're using an HTPC with an HDR TV, the 1903 update seems to have sorted out the HDR issues that previous versions had. I can select 4K/60P, 10 bit or 12 bit, YCbCr420 or YCbCr422 and haven't had any issues up to this point.
