I have a media server basically just hosting a bunch of old movies and my Flac. I connect from a PS3 in one room and a Mede8er in the other. My televisions are old, and not smart tv's.
My issues with the PS3 and Mede8er are that neither plays all formats, PS3 is a pain with copyright issues, and the Mede8er is starting to freeze up every couple of minutes. So what is currently the best devices to replace these?
My requirements are:
They should be able to play all/most formats
Connect to the Windows media server
For Netflix/Showmax etc, they would have to connect to a mobile phone tethered wifi network as I do not have ADSL anymore. Got a nice MTN black Friday 150GB on my handset.
