NYT: Graeme Edge, the drummer and co-founder of the British band the Moody Blues, for whom he wrote many of the spoken-word poems that, appended to songs like “Nights in White Satin,” helped make the group a pioneer in the progressive rock movement of the 1960s and ’70s, died on Thursday (11 Nov 2021) at his home in Bradenton, Fla. He was 80.

RIP Antony Sher

One of the greatest stage actors of his generation and more importantly an advocate of note through his work for LGBTQ+ Rights and understanding. Oh, and he was South African btw.

Sir Antony Sher was an inspirational human being.

There is currently a superb segment airing on BBC World (DSTV) in tribute.

Sadly Robbie Shakespeare (Sly and Robbie) has also passed on.  Along with Sly Dunbar a rhythm section and production duo of note.  Pretty much any reggae album from the mid-seventies onwards as well as much US pop music in the 80s to 90s either featured his bass or his production (and Sly’s drums or drum patterns).
