I have about 2,000 pictures. Unfortunately due to a serious lack of talent, most of them are bleh. I'm still trying to find my 10 best. Will post them in due course...

This is the saddest picture I have taken, ever. Dave Stock in 2009 at TFDC (Bredasdorp) seeing the sun set for the last time.  :vsad: He crashed the next day in that aircraft with hydraulic failure and unable to eject. I saw it happen and it was terrible

Sadly I remember that day as well. I also remember Mach1 runs out over the sea from Ysterplaat and hearing the sonic boom for the first time.

That Lightning was a beauty

My little brother was at Navy Day roughly 25 years ago when an aircraft crashed in to the side of the mountain (I do not remember the exact details unfortunately). He had photographs of the event.

That is a beautiful photograph though Wim, as sad as it is.

While on the topic of Mach 2 planes...

April 1985, Concorde flies supersonic. This is the only picture ever taken of Concorde flying at Mach2, 1,350 mph. It was taken from a Royal Air Force Tornado, which rendezvoused with Concorde briefly to the south of Ireland. Although the Tornado could match (and even exceed) Concorde's cruising speed it could only do so for a matter of minutes due to the enormous rate of fuel consumption. After racing to catch Concorde and struggling to keep up, the Tornado broke off the rendezvous after just four minutes, while Concorde cruised serenely on to JFK!

Concord would have to go a bit faster to beat this:- Trans-atlantic in less than two hours!

I saw Sputnik, well... actually the booster rocket that went into orbit with it!!

The first bike (of only ever two) that I still to this day regret selling. The second was my 955i Daytona. :(

Real interesting photo Chris. Over and above the main subject, there is quite a lot going on here:
Real life on the far left in the alley - dad looks a bit frustrated.
and then there are all those (what looks like) bullet holes in the brick wall behind the buskers - maybe some really bad musicians tried their luck there before.

Cool street pic.
