Where can I get E180F tubes?
« on: Today at 03:54:54 PM »
I have a Sabaj PHA3 tube headphone amplifier driving my Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro and Massdrop Hifiman HE4XX headphones. Using an iFi Zen Dac as the dac.

I would like to replace the two stock 6J9 tubes it comes with, with a pair of E180F tubes. Some say it brings a warmer sound signature to the amp.

Please advise  :)

Are you sure about the E180F? It's a completely different valve. It must be a different valve that is equivalent to the 6J9.

The "warmer" sound may be because the power supply is burning...  ;) :D

Backtracking here - the valves are actually 6Ж9П, which has been transliterated as 6J9P, so not sure if it's exactly the same. The 6Ж9П, an RF/IF pentode, is equivalent to an E180F. The 6J9 is a triple triode in a 10-pin tube.
