Installation of a CL-80 thermistor. What are your thoughts?

Hi all
I found an interesting restoration video on YouTube last week. It is a guy that restores vintage amplifiers. Please see video link below.

He says he installs in all his vintage amps a Cl-80 thermistor. What are the experts thinking about this idea? Here is something I found on internet of the CL-80 thermistor:

The CL-80 is a 2-pin NTC Disc Thermistor with uninsulated lead-wires. This CL series solid state device for inrush current suppression/limiting. Typically, inrush protection prevents nuisance blowing of fuses or breakers as well as welding of switch contacts. It limits surge current by functioning as a power resistor which drops from a high cold resistance to a low hot resistance when heated by the current flowing through it. Suitable for PCB mounting.

I am tempted to do this myself to my vintage amps just for extra safety due to parts not available anymore for most of them.
