Now and again they list inter sting kit on Gumtree. Does anyone have experience buying from them?

Hope the NAD is detaining him at home or the wife (house arrest). No sign of ransom notes?

Johannesburg has become a shithole. That is one of the consequences of low IQ and uneducated people occupying positions of responsibility.

A friend of mine has been wanting to drag me with to this shop in Jeppe Street. The last time I was in that part of town two men tried to hijack me.

Maybe we'll go check it out this week. If so I will let you know how it was.

An insurance assessor friend tells me the large market to the south of Jhb, I think its Oriental Plaza, is SA's no 1 car theft place.   He says he has heard people placing "orders", as "I want a white BMW 3 series" and booking money changes hands.  VW Polos are very easy to steal
Even duct tape can’t fix stupid… but it can muffle the sound

But you can get some great food in Grey St.  just leave the car and wallet at home, take cash, be aware of the surrounds and get food from the most popular Ethiopian restaurant (all have the same menu and the blaring music channel).  And don’t forget to buy some bere bere for cooking and drop into Ajmeri record King!

To leave town out of it, Habesha in Davenport rd is great for Ethiopian food too!

And corrupt, that trumps the other factors.  Corrupt in the deepest sense of it, as in spiritually, morally and so on.   :puke:

Not so applicable to the old-school, but they are dying out...and being attacked and persecuted by some in the next generation. (Ref. including attacks on Pravin Gordhan and others, like the late Ahmed Kathrada, whose funeral was disrespected and disrupted by a mob.) Old school generally intelligent and well-educated, and "service-orientated". However, Jacob Zuma is old-school.
Not that it would make much difference, though, even if all cabinet ministers were perfect. From directors-general down it is another story.  Selecting people to be appointed to those positions was a problem issue right from the start. Only a very few had any education in public administration and so on. ...And so was the problem issue of patronage /nepotism.

I've been to the shop. Some gems amidst the squalor. The okes running the shop are genuine guys just applying their trade.

Its a busy part of the CBD, but parking right outside is possible
