Digital
All except the first one about duplicate FLAC

just curious about you feel that this one should stay - its about a linux method and a vast majority of people use Windows so why keep a sticky that most people cant use .... besides for a handful of geeks

Lanties has a "Flac organiser" which is derived from this topic that Evan wrote a few years back.   I use a Mac for my music collection and managed to find over 900 duplicated tracks

You can get this here - it needs a little work but is invaluable - https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5RZyD4og5VSZjJJWVpyTHZmbzQ&usp=sharing

Good, a good sign, since I removed them about two weeks ago.

It works in Linux, OSX and Windows - I added the necessary for Windows a few days back, so Luddites can use it also.

VERY late on this, shows perhaps the interest there-in . . . .

But then:  I view the sticky-column as a library which might/should be noticed by all new-comers and whoever wants to renew himself on something basic, as in a 'Library'.  One certainly does not read every book so often, but books contain information that might be indispensable on occasion.

Question: Does the column use space which might otherwise be useful elsewhere? I think not. So what is the objection?  "When it served its purpose . . . "  it should be about subject matter which has never 'served its purpose', in the sense that at least all newcomers 'should' read it as background which they otherwise might have missed. In my own field: '100 valve amplifiers' would  certainly be of interest to all valve lovers, which otherwise they may never have seen. (I myself have recently reread it just for relaxation.)

The column is/should then not be a 'notice board', rather a library, as said.

Audio must be the only branch of engineering where lack of basics' knowledge is considered a superior form of wisdom. (Anon)
