Very (very) old speaker driver for fans of MONO sound

This is all you will get out of this speaker, since there is only one

It is a 1959 vintage Goodmans Axiom 80, 10 inch, 15 ohm speaker with a large cylindrical magnet.  This was found in a cupboard belonging to a deceased estate and still in the cardboard tube wrapping it was delivered in, 60 years ago.   The voice coil is in excellent nick, it shows no sign of wear, damp or damage of any sort and I am sure it was never used.   The late owner's daughter thinks it was purchased as a spare.   The glue holding the cardboard tube had dried out

I also found an "Acoustic Resistance Unit" which is used in reflex enclosures to limit or control the amount of air coming from the port or aperture

On eBay, you can get a pair of Axiom 80s for prices ranging between R55000 and R88000, but of course this is for 2

This one is offered for R 3000,00 and the ARU unit will be given away free to the buyer

Location - Cape Town southern suburbs

Shipping can be arranged

I'm distressed at what is regarded as "very, very old" ! A 1920 loudspeaker could be very, very old.

Exactly my feeling, I was hoping to see something pre 1940
Not a 1960 Vintage Axiom 80 which is a classic to me.
Pity, it's only one, not a pair, otherwise this will be a battle field.

Well, I have been told that I am very very very old, and I date prior to 1960, so I considered that 2 "verys" would be adequate

So then based on this rating system, if I was a speaker i would be somewhere between very very old and very old. I disagree, but my kids probably don't.   :ROFLMAO:
