maybe this has been deal with in another thread but cant find it, I need to get SPdif/Coax from a laptop that does have HDMI. So my question is if you play music only with VLC,Kodi... does the audio pass the HDMI port also by default or only when there is video ?
I do see the HDMI to Coax convertors is quite costly don't want to waste money if it cant be use for audio only.
