My son (15) is very sensitive to low frequency sound to the point that it is painfull. Just to show how sensitive, we went to see a movie (Imax) at Mall of Africa and whilst standing outside where you salt your rediculously priced popcorn, you could just hear the adds play in the theatre (mainly low frequencies audible, but not loud) and he immediately held his ear and says that it is uncomfortable.

Gave him the option to can the movie but he insisted (Venom!) and said if it hurts inside we can go. He managed to "equalise" his ears, for lack of a better term, and he sat through it. Then last night at my daughters prize giving at Maranatha church (they have quite serious sound in there) I saw him holding his ear again when some low frequencies came through from some song they played.

Taking him to an ear specialist/audiologist to have a look. Just want to know if anyone has a similar sensitivity?
