Would like to be enlightened more on merits/advantages of passive preamps over active once. Why are passive preamps not common. I'm particularly curious to hear from owners of Rotel Michi series units.
On the other side could use of a DAC like vintage Arcam DAC blackbox 500 as preamp bring significant improvement.
