Aiwa XK-009 Excelia Wooden sides + screw specs
« on: December 23, 2019, 07:26:08 AM »
Does anyone have this deck with the wooden sides? I'm wanting to get them made but I'm looking for exact dimensions as well as screw specs. The screws listed in the Service Manual is a Header Screw, M3 with a part number of 87-067-466-110. Pics would also be really appreciated.
Haven't decided on the wood type yet but I want it to look really good.

Rosewood or Walnut would be my choice ;)

Don't have, sorry, but I do appreciate the beauty of wooden-cheeks.

Rosewood buffed to a high gloss finish does sound very good albeit expensive. I'm already in discussions with Louis from Lerange.

The XK-009 Excelia and the 9000S were not sold in SA as far as I know.   I think the best place to find that info might be Tapeheads or hi-fi engine.  They were rare machines even overseas.

I already have an XK-009 Excelia and I'm having solid rosewood sides made-up for it. Also awaiting new belts, idler tires & pinch rollers to arrive from Marian at https://fixyouraudio.com/
I want this deck to be a statement deck on my rack, which it already is!
The 2 external Power Transformers at the rear of the deck already tell you that this deck means business.

Congratulations - fresh rubber all round.  And those two bulbous transformers are pretty impressive.  You have a very serious deck that will give you years of joy, not to mention, pride.

Cheers - Marc
