I have a 14-watt Xindak valve amp with 4 and 8 ohm speaker binding posts.
This is connected to a pair of Dynaudios with an impedance 'rating' of 4 ohm.

So, naturally, I've always connected the speakers to the amp's 4 ohm taps.

But then, on Ampdog's advice, I tried the 8 ohm taps.

Now I'm confused. At times I can't tell any difference. At times I think the one is better. And then the other.
At times the 8 ohm connection also sounds LOUDER, but I might be going insane.

Is there any valid (electrical) reason for the one constitute a better match than the other (8ohm vs 4ohm)?

My ears have failed me. Maybe science can help.

Or guys who know scientific stuff.

And maybe some other stuff.
