4k Blu ray player recommendations
« on: September 13, 2018, 10:32:52 AM »
hi all

My Pioneer BDP 180 does not support 4k - and with the poor sound quality (my opinion) of current blu ray disks Im thinking a 4k player is in order as the 4k blu ray audio may be better (my opinion again)

Also my PJ and amp support 4k so want to try it out

dont want to break the bank - suggestions welcome

thanks
V

FWIW

Bistreaming the audio is not gonna make a difference even on a true 4k player

I use this Samsung one:

At R2699 I doubt you will do much better. Only drawback is it is does not have a display.
It plays everything I have thrown at it so far and the Netflix app works really well. It supports WiFi as well.

I know, but I'm hoping the quality of audio on the 4k disk will be better

That one does not play 4K discs.
It "upscales" standard blu-rays to 4K.

Just saw that, so it won't work.
