The TEAC LS-X7 is a tiny 2-way monitor loudspeaker housed in a sealed cast alloy enclosure. This speaker is very similar to - if not the same as - the more common (in the USA) Realistic Minimus 7. With its solid build quality, this little speaker is the kind of item that looks like it would last a lifetime. However, one tweeter did fail after a particular afternoon of abuse. With little prospect of finding a replacement part locally, the next option was to substitute both tweeters with a suitably sized tweeter pair. I was fortunate to find a pair of PSB tweeters. To fit these would require (1) a new face plate/adaptor plate and (2) a redesign of the crossover.

I designed the adaptor face plate with recessed mounting in TinkerCAD, a free online 3D design application, and had a friend print it for me in plastic.
