A few odd things: Philips tweeters, CB radio, interconnects, etc.
« on: September 01, 2018, 09:59:40 PM »

Item: CB Radio
Price: R200
Condition: Looks good, but doesn't switch on.
Location: Melville, Johannesburg.
Courier: Sure.

110V AC unit, but I have a 110V AC to 220V AC transformer which will be included.
It doesn't switch on though. Is it the radio, is it the transformer? I'm not sure. The mic still looks brand new and unused so it is probably worth it for that alone.

Item: Philips tweeters
Price: R200
Condition: Working.
Location: Melville, Johannesburg.
Courier: Yes.

I'm not sure why the one screen is see through while the other isn't. Maybe they're slightly different iterations of the same tweeter.

Item: QED sub cable.
Price: R 500.
Condition: Unopened.
Location: Melville, Johannesburg.
Courier: Yes.

Item: Puresonic XLR, 1m.
Price: R 200.
Condition: Working.
Location: Melville, Johannesburg.
Courier: Yes.

Notice how the rubber insulation does not go all the way into connector on the one end. It could have been terminated better at the factory. There is also a piece of plastic broken from one the connectors. They work perfectly though.

"Electrons this way" >>> hahaha

I couldn't find a lot of info about this specific unit online, but I did find a Stereophile review of another similar product by this same company, which can be seen here: https://www.stereophile.com/powerlineaccessories/499api/index.html

I would appreciate if a mod could please add ", etc." to the title of this thread after "interconnects" as I'll use this thread to clear a bunch of things. A few more things to load. Thank you.

hahaha

The only internet references I found for these Merlin traps is on the forum here. I'm not sure who made these. There is something in them, but I'm not sure how effective it is below 100Hz. Probably best to consider these as a broadband absorber for 200 Hz and up. They'll absorb mids and highs.
