Nad T743 as a stereo power amp.

I like the sound of this old HT receiver. But I have Rotel stereo preamp that I want to use it. I once enjoyed combination of Nad 2700 & Rotel RC 1070 driving B&W 685s. The sound was incredibly good.Will I get decent sound as well? Anyone have tried something similar? Please give guidance or I have to  save and go for a Nad stereo power amp?
