Have had the Trio (Kenwood)  receiver KR2200 and can imagine that the sound signature of this KR series quad unit woud be similar. Very warm sound, very valve-like, lovely low bass...overall a very appealing and pleasing signature & plenty of power. This unit was built during the "receiver-wars" years and can bet that the selectivity/sensitivity of the tuner section is excellent. The Trio history is a nice bit of info/read-up as well. These are not seen very often these days, and are definitely worth a listen.

I cannot believe this unit hasn't moved, having three Kenwood recievers myself, although none of them are quad, this from the same period as the 5400 I have, which I believe is the sweet spot in regards to performance/design.
