I will be sending the Sansui Police to you. Please pack the "other one" securely in a box for collection by them.

That's fine - as long as it has the original pair of output trannies. My one has 2N3055 o/p transistors fitted (not by me, got it like that), which work - sort of - but the original trannies are 2SC898.

Luckily everything is still original.

Here she is..

Very dirty but no scratches. Going to need to spend a long time cleaning her.

Complete different animal to the first one. This one sounds very powerful for lack of a better word. Sound is outstanding. I noticed that the additional power outputs on the back have been removed for some reason.

Couple of scratchy knobs but will sort that out

Will post more pics of the internals as I deassemble to start cleaning

Awesome stuff Gareth! I'd love to get my hands on one too.

On a more contemplative note, I wonder what it is about restoring things that is so satisfying to some of us? Whenever I see an old piece of kit i want to fix it up - hence my string of works-in-progress. For example my old B&O system of Beogram 1000, Beomaster 1000 and Beovox 2400 that I restored makes me very happy - I have it set up in my office and listen to it all day. It sounds good to me, but even a modest modern system would I'm sure be a lot better.

I couldn't help looking up the company on that badge - they are Danish as it turns out, and still around: Quali-Fy

I agree, so I am going to take the AU777 out of storage and start restoring it.

Listening to it now with the B&W DM1400's. Terrible pictures but the combo sounds amazing.
