Apologies for starting so many new threads but thought it might be better keeping the topics separated. My understanding of bass management seems to be quite different to what some people on youtube (and the internet) explains.
People seem to say that setting subwoofer mode to LFE + mains indicated that your bass (whatever the xover frequency is set to) plays through the main L + R as well as the sub. My understanding is the opposite of this. I understand LFE + Main means bass from the mains as well as the dedicated LFE channel will be played through the sub. This is especially beneficial when using small speakers, and does not indicate that you are sending more bass to the main speakers but rather more bass to the sub.
Can anyone confirm if this understanding is accurate?
