Hi,

Last night I received a scary email, which a friend later tracked to this scam alert:
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/07/13/hacker_extortion_scam/

In my case it was a password I often use for any site where you have to register, but I don't really care about it or plan to use it often.
This event prompted me to check my passwords, and I realised I was using that same password for more serious sites (Linkedin & Loot in my case), as well as this site (heaven forbid)!

I went through an exercise to change all my essential passwords, and make them unique so that any future such email will at least make it possible to see where it leaked from.

Also see this site:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_most_common_passwords
I realised that any keyboard sequence is a bad idea. I was also using a lot of that.

1) Did anyone else get such emails?
2) Consider going through your passwords (kept by the browser), and toughening them up a bit, deregistering from old sites, etc.

Regards
