Vintage record players - any value?
« on: July 13, 2018, 11:23:13 AM »
Good day ladies and gent,

I have recently been offered a few pieces of old equipment, but have no idea as to their value or if there would be any demand for these...

The record players are:
1) and old Rega (I could not get any identification marks from the images, will be going to inspect in person over the weekend) mounted in a wood enclosure
2) a REALLY old Garrard SP.25 (without cartrige, but manual included) in a wood enclosure
3) a Sanyo stereo phonograph with 2 speaker
4) a slightly newer Kenwood  P-25

Lastly there is an old Telefunken Mont Blanc radio.  again not much I could gather from the images, but will try to get details

your advice and guidance on this would be greatly appreciated

None of those are of any quality sadly.

Cheaply made for the mass market of the time and not worth buying in my opinion.

Hope you don't mind the honesty!

Save the $ and get a better one. ( A brand new Rega P2 maybe a good starting point )
Unless you are really into vintage turntable, then better get a fully serviced one from TurntableGuy ( CPT) or Mike ( JHB)

Thanx guys,

I am not particularly interest in any of the items...   someone knowing I like hifi stuff, asked me if I would be interested to get them...   I will only get them if there were a gem hidden in the lot...

so it seems not worth my drive them...

thanx

regards

There is a picture of the bottom label of a rega Turntable there but I donít see a pic of the full turntable.

That one is worth a drive imo.

Agree with HiPhib, the TT in the picture above the Rega sticker is not a rega.  Ergo, you need a picture of the rega (either that or someone has added a rega sticker to a hunk a junk), the rest is not worth it
