Got one of these to play with.  It is astonishingly good.  Busy comparing it to a Viviere and Devialet 440

But the price - R1249,00!

Even duct tape can’t fix stupid… but it can muffle the sound

Looks a stone cold bargain, but doesn't do DSD as far as I can tell.

I have had the U7 but is does not do DSD.

I also have a NuPrime UDSD on my desktop which is why I am looking for something similar.

Must have a remote volume control I would like to go straight to my power amp.

No, no DSD
How would you say the U7 compares with the NuPrime?

We found it a little clinical and dry.  Plenty of detail though

Personally I prefer the NuPrime.

I like the detail it has.

Especially using headphones it really shines.

It has no problem driving my Audio Technica ATH A900X’s

Add to that the fact that it also does DSD makes it a winner to me.

I just have not been able to figure out why the side entry for the USB.

As for the U7 it has nothing that stood out in any way.

What does a DAC need a remote for unless you're replacing a preamp or wanting to switch inputs on the fly?
