Wait, what? Which song would you save??

Which song would you save if given the choice; when every other song or piece of music ever composed or performed since the dawn of time stands to be wiped from all human memory....

You are asking a very difficult question as it boils down to what is ones favourite song. Giving you only one is near impossible. However, I am not answering your question so here goes: Sounds of silence. Perhaps you should ask us : What are our favourite songs?

Not a song, but a classical composition.

Beethoven - Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano in C major, Op. 56

I could listen to this forever.

Beethoven's "Moonlight"  Adagio Sostenuto (Piano Sonata #14 in C Sharp Minor, Op. 27/2)  Also known as "Quasi Una Fantasia"

*In reality though, i wouldn't be 2 "phased" by it, if this scenario should play out in the way you describe, because  even if completely "erased from human memory" we all have music as files on our hard drives or physical media.   We may forget we have them yes, but sooner or later we'll run into them and the wealth of music will be played and people will start remembering, humanity will prevail, and we all live happily ever after.

From the Dalai Lama:  Cables in allegory, are the "umbilical cord" or thread between life and afterlife. The quality of such life depends on the "source" of the energy, and not on the stitch or the thread...

I'm not into singles, for me it's albums, the work as a whole that carries real value. As such, I'd choose EL-P's Fantastic Damage as the work to save.
