Raspberry Pi or ODROID C2 for Media Player?

Hi

I'm wanting to replace my PC as a media player with something smaller, running Linux or dedicated OS and connecting to USB DAC.  Media files will be stored on a wired Ethernet network share.

I don't require complexities of Roon, as I shall be setting up playlists and going through those so an Android/Smartphone remote is not required, but can be a possibility later.

Can one recommend whether to use the Pi 3 or ODROID C2, and advantages/disadvantages of either?  What software player is best?
