Superleach
« on: June 02, 2018, 12:04:48 PM »
Price: R2000
Location: Cape Town
Shipping: Very heavy transformer 26Kg, so prefer not to ship.
Condition: Unused

Ok, doing some cleaning up and afraid these will probably never get done. I don't really have a need for such a powerful amplifier anymore.

The boards are for free. (Boards originally from here) https://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,46098.msg589259.html#msg589259)

You are purchasing the 1.6KVA transformer and all 16 transistors.

I really do hope someone will build this amp (16years after assembling the boards).. the replacement cost of just the parts on the PCB's alone area probably >R2k, not to mention the effort that went into procuring the parts, matching the transistors, assembly and testing.
Unfortunately the 100V capacitors required will not be cheap.

OK, Chingy is not ready to take the amp now, he's still busy with other projects.

Pwatts and Jannas' posts made me decide to keep it.
I have just about finished my open baffle build, so hopefully there will soon'ish be a Superleach build thread.

Sale retracted.

Very heavy transformer 26Kg

Wow. That is proper.

Utterly intrigued to see how this build develops.

I had the transformer wound at SJ Andrews in Johannesburg and couriered down to Cape Town. It was so funny to see the courier carrying the small little square box when he delivered it, really struggling with the weight. It's not what one would expect from a small box.  ;D I tipped him and we both had a good laugh about it ...
