Can hi-fi items especially amplifiers be compared to cars? Where it's always good to buy it new drive it for 3-4 years and trade it in for a new one. Does this apply to hi-fi? In terms of value how fast do hi-fi components depreciate in value. Which brand can be easily regarded as 'investments' if one buys them new?
