Question

Hey all,

What's the simplest way to play my audio & video wirelessly from my laptop to my projector.  Both are on the wireless network and both are bluetooth enabled.  Second question, if I plug in an external hard drive into my projector, and it requests the HD to be formatted, does that mean the HD is now exclusive to the projector?

Many thanks

I don't know how smart your projector is to enable video playback via the wireless network (Bluetooth software is not yet taking advantage of the relatively low bandwidth to transmit even low resolution compressed videos).

However, you can use an HDMI wireless transmitter-receiver, there's plenty of offers online.

As for HDD formatting, it will not be exclusive to the projector because the supported formats are recognized by PCs (i.e. FAT, FAT32, NTFS etc.), it may however become unrecognizable to some other devices depending on the format that your projector supports.

Easiest is probably a Chromecast or similar.

Or you could look at a Pi with XBMC?
